Welcome to YourWordpressBlog.com! When I got the idea to start this site, I decided that for my first post here, I would do something a little fun, maybe even different. What I came up with isn’t all that unique, but it’s personally my first time doing a screencast of any kind.

Now I must warn you, this is the work of an extreme amateur, but I think I’ve made it simple enough to follow along with, even for complete beginners.

To kick things off here, I figured we start with the very first step of using the self-hosted blogging solution provided by WordPress.org (not to be confused with WordPress.com). I walk you through the process of downloading and installing WordPress on your own host, including how to set up your MySQL databases.

Things You’ll Need:

• A PHP/MySQL Capable Webhost (We recommend LiquidHost)
• FileZilla or other FTP Program
• The ability to extract files.
